Many good opinions on both sides
Hi, thanks you so much for the feedback on the random offsets. =)
Most seemed to think the effect is could be good if toned down and/or that it should only apply to some tiles. Some thought it was horrible, some thought it was awesome.
Personally, I think it’s awesome (mostly because it reminds me of Dungeon Keeper), but that it doesn’t really fit the newretro feel I’m going for with minecraft. One good thing, however, is that it would probably look awesome if animated and only on water tiles, so I’m going to investigate how expensive that is.
tl;dr:
I’m canning it.
