Games I find surprisingly good
Blue Toad Mysteries (PSN)
The humor is great, and all the voice acting is done by a single very funny
person. There are some interesting puzzles, and best of all, it’s really varied. EP 3 just came out, and is FREE!
Borderlands (PC)
I shouldn’t like this, but I do. There’s something horribly addictive about it. In the
past, I’ve compared it to what cocaine would be like if J.J. Abrams directed it
The Misadventures of P.B Winterbottom (PSN)
Very enjoyable. Felt a bit like braid sometimes,
but it was original enough for me to finish it in a single sitting. The old film screen effects are spot on!
Minecraft (Java, LWJGL)
I’m really supposed to be working on this, not playing it, but every single time I
test a feature, I find myself getting sidetracked. Kicking skeletons off cliffs never gets old.
Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure (DS)
Ok, I’m not the only person to like this, but I was
definitely not expecting it to be as good as it was. Best platformer since a long time ago.
Burning Man (Java)
I didn’t really give this game a fair chance the first time I played it. I thought it
was a decently made platformer in 4k with a neat gimmick. But when I gave it another chance, I really started to
enjoy the clever level design.
